The Pike Liberal Arts School Student Government Association is holding a supply drive to help provide clean-up materials and supplies for victims of Hurricane Sally. The SGA is asking that students from all classes and grades bring items from the list provided below. The collection area will be on the stage in the cafeteria. The supply drive will begin Monday, September 28th and end on Friday, October 9th. Thank you for your generosity as we help our neighbors in need.

Patriot families,
We want to share the scheduled events for Homecoming 2020. Covid-19 has impacted the way we do everything at school, celebrations included. However, we are excited to be able to keep some of our traditions the same this year.
September 10th-11th, 2020: Homeroom Door Decorating Contest:
Each homeroom will be decorating their class room door in preparation for homecoming week. Doors will be judged by a committee and winners will be announced at the pep rally on Friday, September 18th.
September 14th – 18th, 2020: Dress up Days:

Thursday, September 17, 2020:
Glow in the Dark Rally – There will be two shows, 5:30 and 7:30, with a limit of 250 fans per session. This will allow us to spread our audience members apart. Masks will be required. Tickets should be bought at school, and a time selection must be made at the time of purchase.
Friday
Homecoming Assembly, Dwight Ward Field – 9:00 am; High school students, parents and grandparents of seniors and homecoming attendants only. Masks required.
Pep Rally, Dwight Ward Field – 11:00 am; PLAS student body and parents of football players, cheerleaders and band members, only. Masks required.
School is dismissed at 12 noon.
Kickoff PLAS vs. Edgewood Academy, Dwight Ward Field – 7 pm
Presentation of 2020 Homecoming Queen and Court – Halftime of game
Important Things to Remember
Orders for Homecoming Mums are due to Jean’s Flowers by September 14th.
During break and lunch September 14th-18th at the SGA Table:
Student game tickets will be sold for $5
Vote for Homecoming King
Purchase a chance to have a picture taken with your favorite player or cheerleader for 25 cents (elementary students will buy those in class).
Glow in the Dark Tickets will be sold for $5 (you must choose which show to attend, as the tickets will be different for each show)

Welcome to third grade!
Some information about our class routines:
Reading vocabulary quiz will be given every Wednesday.
Reading and Spelling tests will be on Friday.
Math tests will be given at the end of each chapter and they will bring home a study guide.
There will be notes to study for science and social studies and you will be informed before tests.
Papers will be sent home on Wednesday. Please sign and return the next day.
