******TOMORROW (FRIDAY) is the last day to turn in cans for the SGA canned food drive.  The grade that collects the most will win a pizza party and our kids are trying hard to win.  We currently have 210 cans, which is amazing since we only have 19 students AND we are collecting peanut butter and jelly for the 4H, but I think we are a good bit behind.  If you would like to bring in any cans or nonperishable items to help out, please send them in tomorrow.  As always, thank you for all you do!!!

For our fifth grade Valentine’s party this Friday, we let the students vote and  the majority of them want to do Chick-fil-A again.  We are fine with their choice if you are.  This way, you will not have to bring anything for the party unless you plan to send Valentine’s/treat bags for everyone in your homeroom class.  Info sheets are going home in folders today.

Please make sure your child knows their google classroom email (the pikelib.com one and their password.  They need both to get in.

Homecoming has been changed to the week of October 23.

Purple shirts are in.  They are $4 each.  I have them in my room.

The pizza party for the September birthdays will be Monday, September 28.  Everyone has paid. 

This Friday’s varsity game is at Tuscaloosa.

The cutoff for AR for the first nine weeks is Thursday, October 8.  We are trying to get 100% of the class to make their goal.  Please encourage your child to read.  Congratulations to Abbigail, Nolan, Averie, Wyatt, Madalynn, Shelbie and Mary Holland for making your goal!!

Please return the 4H forms to me as soon as possible.

4H was rescheduled for Monday 9/21 due to the hurricane.

Homecoming has been changed to the week of October 23.

Woohoo!!!! ALL students are in Google Classroom! However; when we tried to use it Friday, several did not know their email and/or password.  Please have them either memorize this or write it down and keep it in their notebook.

The pizza party for the September birthdays will be Monday, September 28.  You may begin bringing in your $5 at any time.

I would love to have the opportunity to occasionally use google classroom in class during the school day.  In order to do that, I have to have each of you go in and join my class.  Instructions were sent home in folders last week.  The codes for each of my classes are –

We plan to do a monthly pizza party to celebrate the birthdays for that month.  The August party will be Thursday 9/10 at lunch.  Each student needs to send in $5 to cover the pizza, drink, etc.  

This Friday (9/4) the theme is “Power up Pike” and you may dress as your favorite super hero.

My homeroom will take the STAR test on Monday, (8/24).  AR will begin on Wednesday (8/26).

I am sending home a copy of the football dress up days in folders next week.  The first day is 8/28.  The theme is “shank the show” and the dress is country vs country club (golf)

Folders will go home on Monday (8/24) for the first time.  They must be signed and returned by Wednesday of the same week.  In this week’s folder, I am also sending the lunch menu, price list and a letter from the lunchroom
